A place where restoration project-type threads can go to avoid falling off the main page in the WIX hangar. Feel free to start threads on Restoration projects and/or warbird maintenance here. Named in memoriam for Gary Austin, a good friend of the site and known as RetroAviation here. He will be sorely missed.

Can anyone here put an ID on this wood control stick? I've been told it was removed from a Stearman PT-17, but one eagle-eyed viewer determined the lower connection linkage assembly appears wrong for the Kaydet.
http://i403.photobucket.com/albums/pp12 ... stick1.jpghttp://i403.photobucket.com/albums/pp12 ... stick2.jpgIt's about 26" long, and although hard to read, there looks to be a cast B in a triangle along with E 208 A on the lower metal linkage assembly.

PT-19 maybe? T-6 wooden sticks weren't bent like that.

Just received an off-WIX email suggestion that the control stick might actually have come from one of the cockpits of the JN4D Jenny.
Anyone have a good quality photo of a JN4D control stick for comparison?

Here's a comparison between a linkage attachment assembly remanufactured specifically for a JN-4 restoration ...

... and the linkage attachment point on this control stick:
