PT-19 Undercarriage Seal Kits

Sat Oct 09, 2010 3:53 pm

We have a list of jobs to do on the PT-19 this winter. Chief amongst these are the overhaul of the main and tail undercarriage. Would anyone know a supply of seals for the legs? Also, is there a supply of gaiters for the legs?

I'm also keen to obtain a full set of AD's for the Ranger engine. Are these available on line?

Any words of wisdom would be very welcome.

Thanks,

G

Hi,

I think you can still get Main landing gear seal that mounts at the top of the strut at Solberg Aviation, www.solbergairport.com or (908) 534-4000 ask for Suzy. They also have the main landing gear boots. The set that I picked up were cheap but in really bad condition, they could only be used a paterns. Just have a local upolstery shop build them up, they were originaly a black canvas material.

There is a SB for checking the wear of the main landing gear bushings and several SB for the tail strut. My company rebuilds Fairchild tail struts for the PT series and F-24. For more information on that, please contact me at N9UNS@AOL.COM.

There are only two AD's on the Ranger engine and I think you can find them at FAA.GOV or through T-data.

Hopes this helps.

Bill
