Very shiny new engine. Nice pics. It will be all grimy and oil covered in no time! Tis the nature of the beast.

Thanks for all of the comments!!!
Schedules finally permitted our initial run up of the new engine today!
We do have a few unrelated issues that will need to be addressed before a test hop, but we're well on track to be in the air by next week.
FYI, we'll be conducting our 2010 winter jump school with lots of flight time!!
If anyone is in the neighborhood on Saturday the 23rd, we'll be having an open hangar day.
Let me know if you would like further details!

After 9 additional flights during jump school, our new engine is running great! We had an excellent jump school and open hangar day, and also hosted numerous WWII troop carrier and airborne veterans! For information on activities, see:

We've been working on some other updates to our C-47, now that we have the engine change completed. One project is to restore the radio operators station. The area was still there (the bulkheads hadn't ever been moved or removed), but it has been empty. One of our members has collected a portion of the radios needed, and we got them installed recently. We had the honor of having Clarence Haberman, a WWII C-47 radio operator, there for the process:

We also recently installed a original "football" ADF to the aircraft:
