Prop tools

Sun Dec 16, 2007 1:15 pm

I am looking for the combination wrenches and tools that are used on the Hamilton-Standard line of props. Please excuse my ignorance, but I'm not sure if these tools are universal to all the props, or individually specific for each model.
At present, I am not sure of the model/parts number for the prop that fits the R-2800-31, and/or Harpoon....I have been led to believe that anyone wrench will work, but I want to be positive before I make a purchase. Thanks Gary

You'll need the tools for a #50 SAE spline for that series engine/prop combination.

Later R-2800's over 2100 hp generally use a #60 spline (F4U-5, F7F, etc)

I have a box of older prop tools. Mainly big radials. If your still interested send me an email. warbirds1@shaw.ca Thanks Ray

Probably worth a call to Harry Hectors place in Burbank. They have just about *everything radial*
