I am looking for any photos that anyone might have in archives of life aboard the Sara back in late 43-Dec 45. My grandfather was on her and was one of those wounded during Iwo Jima on the forward most port gun sponson. I have seen the photos of his sponson after the attack, but I am looking for more photos of life aboard. He was an avid boxer, so if there are any photos of boxing matches, he would probably be in it. He was in Exec and ran the ship's store for a while. Anything would be awesome! Thanks all! |
