The wreck of the Italian Battleship ROMA was located Thursday in 3280 feet of water North of Sardinia by a deep diving ROV. ROMA was sunk by a German aircraft on Sept. 9, 1943, the day after Italy signed an armistice with the Allies while enroute to Malta with the loss of 1352 lives.

Wonder how much of her is left - the Fritz that hit her ignited her number two 15 inch magazine and produced a massive explosion which killed over 1,250 of her crew.

Now, if they could find the HMS Barham next!
