First I've ever seen of letters or coding on top of the wings-'supwidat?
It's too bad the photographer never learned the meaning of the term 'focus'

The photographer focused just fine.....on that sign in the foreground. Obviously a lot of activity around the aircraft and the bomb bays are open on all the ones in the foreground anyway. P.O.W. drop preparation is as good a theory as any at this point until someone with better information (or eyes) comes along.

Also, this is a 330th aircraft with a 19th BG tail code 'M' on her. If you look on the wing, you can make out K-2.
They started putting the SN's on the aircraft post hostilities.., so this is most likely early Sept.
K-2 flew home as a different SN.. so this must have been the transition of her to a 19th BG aircaft. Or this stage, they most likely did not care.
If you look at the bottom four aircraft in the photo. The last one is K-13 and you can see the identification on the wing.

This was taken at Isely just prior to the push for the POW drops. You can see all the parcels being loaded onto the aircraft for dropping over the camps.

That's an interesting time point for historians and especially for modellers looking for that little something extra.

I'm pretty new at Photoshop but made them slightly (slightly!) better. If you have actual hard copies of these photos and could scan them at the highest resolution possible and email them to me I might be able to do better.

Nice Job!!!
So, is it safe to presume that all three of these shots were taken at the same airfield. Isely, Saipan during a POW re-supply mission?
