US air force boffins have developed a net-flinging weapon dubbed "Angry Bird", for the purpose of bringing down drug-smuggling ultralight aircraft crossing the Mexican border without using lethal force.

Neat idea, but seeing as how they are drug smugglers, I think it is far more economical to use a box of 12 gauge 00buck shot. There are a lot of dear leases and hunting clubs down that way that could just right it off as an accident. I think they would would be a lot less likely to try to smuggle if they could get shot out of the sky. Plus the ranch owners could make money off of the line of people waiting to "sky hunt".
