the beehive is definetely swirling in the mid east!! the next generation bomber is on paper / computer..... dubbed the 2018 bomber. how much are they going to cost?? i've read where super aircraft carriers are now cost prohibitive & there will be no more. the new fad will be high tech ww 2 sized essex carriers. i read where an allied mid east country is buying some of those big assed 30 thousand boom booms. where does it end?? |

What was the designator for that artillery tube turned down and into the casing for the C&C bunker buster that we all watched go throught the roof of that building in Iraq during Gulf War #1? |

lol Those were great! GBU-28's at just 5,000lb with a mere 630lbs of HE. But they did the job. Israel has about 100 of those puppies sitting around as well. Surely designated when Iran turns their energy reactors into weapons. |

I was thinking about the BLU-115. An artillery tube around 8in in diameter was turned on a lathe to lighten it and the casing was upended and filled by 5 gallon buckets of warmed explosive, and I've heard it went on to a C-130 while still warm from the explosives, and I think was dropped from an Aardvark using PAVE LOW I believe. I know an inert one was test dropped and digging for it was given up after 30 or 40 feet of excavating. |

Quote: The initial batch of GBU-28s was built from modified 8 inch/203 mm artillery barrels (principally from deactivated M110 howitzers), but later examples were purpose-built.[3] They weigh 4,700 pounds (2132 kg) and contain 630 pounds (286 kg) of high explosive. The operator illuminates a target with a laser designator and the munition guides itself to the spot of laser light reflected from the target.
