From the AP wires:
The PC U.S. Military has a new digital camoflage pink with lace design work uniform ready for issue.

Why would I not be surprised? Like the Army...In the midst of tightening the defense budget, they come out and replace the green uniform with what used to be dress blues. Lot cheaper? Yeah, right. And with no offense to the Airborne guys, bloused boots with dress blues looks, well,......They're also coming out with a "new, improved" field camo uniform to replace the current (I believe it's called) ACU (described by more than one Marine as the "Smurf outfit"). Which is on top of a new field uniform introduced for fighting in Afghanistan. We won't mention the widely hated black beret.

You sound excited about it.

Hundreds of millions of dollars have been wasted by the military and by the US Army in particular on uniforms in the last few years. For example, US Army flight crews are no longer authorized flight suits, instead they have to wear 2 piece ACU's that are supposed to look like normal uniforms. Thousands of perfectly good flight suits to the garbage. The Black fleece jacket, only a few years old, no longer authorized, you have to wear the green jacket, same thing but different color.
Have you seen the Navy dark blue BDU's? What a joke.
From BDU commonality now each service has it's own special "look".
Hey, at least the money wasn't wasted on social programs like healthcare for our citizens and taking care of poor children. The mind boggles at how many college scholarships this wasted money could have funded.
Not to mention the lower enlisted ranks have the hardest time coming up with the money to buy the new items.
