Just a few updates. Yesterday I spoke to Maggie Ramsey at the USS Lexington museum in Corpus Texas. She is going to spread the work about the veteran tales project to all the volunteers there to see if they may be interested in doing some videos. From what she said, they have several interesting people there. She said it would be OK for me to video the interviews on board the carrier. I my be planning a trip down there later this year if I can raise enough donations to cover the trip or most of it anyway.

I also spoke to Taylor Loyd with Harlington-Straker Film Studio. He is in the process of filming a pilot episode of the planes and people of the Cold War Air Museum, http://www.cwam.org to see if the History Channel may be interested in it. He said they have a few interesting veterans that are involved in the museum there in Lancaster Texas, and that I should come out and meet them sometime.

Recently I was contacted by Bob Degroat. His father was a B-24 pilot in 459th Bomb Group during WWII. He has passed away, but Bob told me they spent 5 years documenting his flying experiences and his time as a German POW. Bob has sent me some documents of his dads. Below are a couple of photos he sent me. Bob and I will continue to talk over the next few weeks or months because I would like to do a video about his dad using the information Bob has spent so much time collecting and treasuring over the years. Bob even sent me a copy of the Western Union Telegraph that was sent to his mother after the B-24 "Cherry" piloted by Robert Degroat went missing in action. It is surreal to read. I can only imagine what it would be like to receive that in the mail.

Today I am expecting to talk on the phone with Jim Hodgson with the Forward Air Control Museum in Ft. Worth, Texas. He also said they have quite a few veterans and I am looking forward to talking to him and explain about The Veteran Tales Project.

I have up loaded the 33 minute version of Harold Owen's video on ASB. Harold was in WWII and has some interesting stories. It was difficult to choose what I was going to edit out to allow for downloading. I should have his entire video done in about a week. It will probably be around 2 hours or so. It was an honor to meet Harold and spend some time with him. His memory is amazing.

Here is the link for his video

I hope you like it.

Met a great man yesterday. His name is Jim Hardwick. He joined the Navy at 17 and was at pearl for the attack. During his career in the Navy he survived 3 torpedo attacks. Went all over the world and has sole great stories. He agreed to do a veteran tales interview with me. We will try to do it next week. I just love meeting these men. They are the true heroes in my book.
