Honor Flight to DC with WW2 Vets

I had the pleasure last Saturday to go to DC with a
whole plane load of WW2 Vets of all stripes.
These Honor Flights are set up all over the country
to bring these folks to DC to see their monument.

That has got to be an interesting flight. Quite a bunch of mixed feelings and emotions I am sure. Just thinking about that yesterday, my Grandfather's anniversary, or would have been, as he died last year. He wasn't a vet, but he was of that generation and helped to build the bases in San Antonio. That pic with so many of the vets in wheelchairs really sums it up, they are getting old. We are not going to have a lot more veteran flights, interviews, remembrances. Savor every moment you can. Hold a door for them, thank them, do whatever little thing you can do. They are not long with us.
