| Post subject: | POWs Try To Sue Iraq |
This would fall under the category of That Ain't Right or at least it doesn't seem right. I just saw this on tv news, and don't know much more about it. Ex POWs from the Gulf War, according to one of them David Eberly, were starved and tortured after being captured in the first gulf war. They have tried to sue Iraq for damages, but the Bush Administration has blocked the suit. Now there is a bill in Congress which specifically allows this type of suit, and Bush says he will veto it because it would open the door to others like it. As I wrote, I only know what I saw, there may be more to the story. |

If I remember right he was an F-15E pilot. First I've heard of this case. I think the Iran hostages had sued but have been stopped by our goverment or they wouldn't let them get any of the frozen assets we have of Irans. Mike |
