Get your bidders paddle and open that checkbook-

Da gummint will start accepting bids to dispose of the U.S.S. Long Beach in deactivated storage @ N.S. Bremerton, WA.
The Long Beach is the ship in her class and was suposed to be the first ship in a new class of nuclear powered Cruisers that never came to be. All the nuke items have been removed including the plant.

Too bad they aren't doing the same with the USS Texas (CGN-39). Would be nice to see her next to her forerunner (BB-35) down in Houston.

You want the TEXAS cut up and sold for scrap?? That's exactly what the plans for the Long Beach are, 97 bazllion razorblades.

While they are auctioning for scrap, it wouldn't be the first time a ship or aircraft was sold for scrap and then (legally) purchased or donated to a museum. The USS Cabot was partially saved this way. At least half the flying warbirds were acquired this way as well.

I'm betting on a serious drop in the price of MACH 3 razor blades
