The only connection between St. Louis and Long Beach was the constant influx of castoff management moving west to reinvent the wheel.

The people at Lockheed GA used to feel the same way about all of the Californians who came here when the L-1011 program shut down. The consensus seemed to be that they weren't exactly sending the best and the brightest. I was a wee lad at the time, but my Dad and Grandad used to have long, head shaking discussions about it...
