i know the title of this post seems odd, but hear me out. i haven't been able to get those trapped 33 chilean miners off my mind. it will be 1 month next sunday that the cave in occurred. talk about endurance & mental endurance with months to go till rescue. the chilean government has asked for advice from nasa regarding how astronauts endure the mental strain of long stays in space at the international space station, & how they coped in the gemini & apollo programs when there were even less luxuries & creature comforts. CHILE SHOULD ALSO ASK THE U.S. NAVY'S SUBMARINE SERVICE FOR ADVICE ON HOW THOSE POOR SOULS SHOULD SURVIVE & KEEP THEIR MENTAL FACULTIES TILL RESCUE. granted, today's u.s. submarines have many ameneties for their crews w/ great chow, stereos in bunk quarters, air conditioning , etc, but you still must have the mental meddle & strength to be in the sub service with long stretches of months submerged with out seeing daylight & having fresh open air. the submariners of ww 2 endured much of the same as the miners are now. i think the the u.s. navy could be of even more help than nasa for advice. may god be we with the 33!!

Hello Tom:
aside the NASA, the Chilean government is already asking for advice to the Chilean Navy submarine service. Hopefully the possibilities of communicating with them have allowed to know their necessities and even provide them with remote medical assistance.
Kind regards,
Álvaro
