UFO OVER NORWAY

Wednesday night something was seen by many people in the sky over Norway. The UFO prompted record number of phones calls to their space center. Was it a spaceship,a meteor, or just too much vodka?
Neither, the UFO is now a IFO, identified as a Russian rocket launched from a submarine. When the rocket went out of control it began the spiral that looked so strange.
The story does not say why the sub launched the rocket.

The Russians have a launch program to use old SLBM's for small satellites. This may have been one of those launches. I've not seen anything yet about it from AGi, but it wouldn't surprise me as usually the foreign launch notifications are delayed 3-4 days.

The story does not say why the sub launched the rocket.

It's part of an ongoing development of a new ICBM missile, Bill. This is the 8th failure after 12
launches of the new Bulava missile. They're in pretty bad shape on this one. Their new sub is ready
but they can't sort out the new bird, they can't go back because of aging former equipment, and
they're too deep into the Bulava to start over.

One thing to note though - the new missile system (which is actually just an updated and modernized version of their existing SLBM's) will probably only replace the aging missiles (i.e. warheads moved from the old ones to the new ones) as the new ship won't be able to use the old missiles. In addition, the new submarine is intended to be one-to-one replacement for the Delta and Typhoon subs.

But wait - most of the Deltas and Typhoons have been laid up for years due to lack of money. Even if this new submarine gets underway, the question is whether they'll ever actually enter service.

The bigger question here is if the Russians intend to sell the sub and/or missile. That would be the big threat.

Hmm is that aerodynamicly possible? And thats the first time I have seen something blow up and no flash just pure darkness more dark than the rest of the sky.
Plus it was a blue light from the ground, or did it project out of the spiral to the ground.
To eager to believe a story that was denied at first then recanted.
And never in the history of missiles and space junk has anyone ever seen something like this.
I think there is more to it.

I will admit to anyone, I have always had an open mind on the subject of UFO'S. Don't know if I beleive in little green men, but I have seen a couple of strange things. for "lest we forget. UFO just means people, or radar or someone sees something that they don't know what is. Little green men might be a theory, but only one, and not a requirement. Since multiple people saw and photographed this thing, there must have been something there.

My guess is most of these are natural phenomenon and some of the others are military tests from right here on earth. I have seen no evidence of green men, unless there was a pilot inside when it was doing all those spirals,then he might be pretty green.

There isn't because your assumptions aren't based on fact. Remember, this is an INTERCONTINENTAL missile. The failure occured during the 3rd stage burn, which is when the missile was in space. As such, what you saw was the exhaust gases and there was little "aerodynamics" involved since there was no "air" to act upon it. In addition, there was no explosion. The rocket ran out of fuel and thus the combustion stopped. Because there was no combustion, there was nothing to light the exhaust, and thus the light "went away".

Me thinks you've been seeing far too much Hollywood and far too little reality.

Edit - found this blog that has some much better video of the incident and makes it obvious that most of the still images shown have been heavily photoshopped to over-dramaticize the incident.

Actually there is a website where its been mapped out that it isn't a missile from where it is though it is from. There is no way a missile would make that sort of pattern, there are tons of missile failure videos on the net, they don't even come close to that. It may not even be something flying, it maybe a projection, or the result of very high energy fields. It maybe an SDI device too.
No one in the world has ever seen a missile do that, or for that matter anything else.

My impression was the rocket was wobbling, giving that corkscrew effect until the lights went out.

The direction it is veiwed from and supposed to be going makes the rocket story not possible.
And why did the blue or green light come out of the thing and hit the area on the ground?

And what is with the name calling? Kinda makes it sound like a politician attacking someone that isn't supporting thier political agenda. Funny how some can't carry on a conversation with out attacking someone. I don't get it.
