Lucky warbirds dont do this...

These poor chaps have a long story.... as happened last week in the Gulf near Iran... a US navy vessel rammed a US submarine.. seems they didnt know the submarine was there... so much for SONAR.. eh

If this happened to a aircraft it would be a serious write off i feel.. twisted to the right...

Some days it is LUCKIER to be above the waves with all the issues of flight than to be beneath the water and hidden...

This reminds me of a Aussie accident where a runway plane cheweed up a another planes tail completely with its propeller blade into like 30 slices of metal and a very twisted airframe...

Unfortunately, warbirds do do this, sometimes with tragic results (like the Mustangs last year at OSH) and sometimes not (like the T-6 vs. helicopter some months ago, where the T-6 lost a piece of wingtip and continued around the pattern to land.)
