Not sure when this arrived, or where it came from, but as I was leaving the gym today at Vance AFB I noticed this A-10 being towed into place at the old airpark.

Quick iPhone snapshot now, and I'll go back later this week when there's better weather and get some more details.

Thanks for spotting it. Any idea what the "Total Force" written on the engine denotes? I've never seen that before.

It's a term that's used to denote the practice of Reserve and Guard units working hand in hand with Active Duty units. As in, the ANG and AFRES units are part of the "total force".

This was a ground trainer at Sheppard AFB. GA-10A 80-0143, 82TRW. ST stands for Sheppard Trainer. Nice to see they saved it, rather than chop it up. They got rid of a bunch of older F-15 and F-16 gound trainers last year, scrapped on site.
