Hi Guys, I'm hoping you can assist me.
I'm trying to superdetail a Tamiya 1:32 Spitfire IX to represent an 81 Squadron aircraft that my Father would have worked on when he was an Electrician in the RAF between 1941 and 45. I've got a long-running project to build a model of every aircraft he would have worked on and to try to portray him working on them as much as possible

Now some cut-away diagrams I've found seem to show that behind the starboard rear access panel there was a battery. However I've so far been unable to find any details, specifically photos, schematics or detailed diagrams.
I'm in the process of super-detailing the engine as I'll be leaving at least the side panels off for this diaorama which will aim to represent my Dad's time at an airfield in Tunisia in the summer of 1943.
Last year I built a 1:32 Hurricane IIc to represent one he would have worked on with 5 Squadron in Burma in 1944. I was pleased that this won a "Commended" at last November's Scale Model World in the Aircraft Diorama category, against som VERY still competition.
Here's a couple of photos of that just to stir some interest

Thanks in advance
Andrew
