Post subject:  Dutch Air Force museum and storage facility

Last weekend the Dutch Air Force museum opened its storage facility for public.
This storage facility is open once a year.
The museum is due to re-locate and re-open in 2014 on the former Soesterberg Air Base.

The museum holds a variaty of warbirds : Spitfire ,P-51 Mustang ,Fokker D-XXI ,B-25 Mitchell ,Koolhoven FK-51 ,Dornier Do-24 ,Brewster Buffalo
and a selection of classic jets also jets used by the 32nd TFS at Soesterberg AB.

A large part of the museum collection has been in storage for many years.
In preparation of this move to Soesterberg ,large aircraft are already removed and are being restored for future display at the new location.
The F-15A Eagle is already re-painted and also the C-47 Dakota.
The F-27 Troopship and SP-2H Neptune are currently under restoration at different locations.

One year later

The Dutch Air Force museum re-opened this weekend its doors of the Storage facility at the former Soesterberg Airbase.

All F-104's are gone
The Lockheed 12 is out of the restoration shop and now in storage.

The F-15 Eagle is displayed outside today and new exhibit is a F-4 Phantom ,repainted in 32TFS (Soesterberg) markings.
