Unidentified photograph of 9th Air Force Captain c. 1943-45

Good morning - well it is here in France!
Whilst in England last week, amongst my late father-in-law's papers I found several photographs of a Captain in the 9th Army Air Force. These were taken at the studio of London society photographer, Vandyk Ltd., and so I presume that they date from the period 1943-45. However I have no idea of the identity of the officer or why his photographs might be with my father-in-law's papers (he was a Major in the Royal Tank Regiment serving in North Africa and Italy at the time). I'm attaching a copy of one of the images. If anyone can help me with the identity of the officer or offer any other information based on what appears in the photograph, I shall be most grateful.
Ah - I have just realised that I have a problem! I don't know whether I can upload the image directly from my computer or can only do so via a photo hosting or other web site. Thus I'd be grateful for some help from a moderator or someone of greater experience on this site. Otherwise it might be a tad difficult for anyone to help me identify the officer without sight of his photograph!
