The Albacore was extinct as a type until one was reconstructed from remains with a lot of scratchbuilding, and delivered to the Fleet Air Arm Museum, Yeovilton.

No, it's not airworthy, not is there ever likely to be one fly again - at least we have one, remarkably accurate looking, preserved for future generations.

Hence the the non-complimentary term I first heard it when I brought a very sad looking Tri-Pacer project home. When he first saw it, I asked my buddy what he thought? " British BeautifuLL!" said it all.
