Flying echelon like that is incredibly difficult to fly in perfect formation. The further out you are away from lead, the harder it is to fly stable. Because you're technically flying off of the aircraft next to you, by the time you get out that far, it's like you are playing "crack the whip" and you're on the end of the whip. The first few planes are probably somewhat stable, but numbers 4 thru 7 are probably bouncing all over the place. I have a great deal of respect for the skill it took to make that picture. :D
