I'm not going to say a lot more, but a really good photo from an artistic point of view IMHO was not qualified because of a detail overlooked, and there were a few other issues I had.
The museum shots - well, to me, that's real borderline.
Hey Ryan just wondering, what do you mean about the museum shots? Do they not count? Just wondering for the future contests.

Well, the whole point of the contest was seeing maintenance or restoration taking place

Basically, it should be a compelling photograph of maintenance or restoration on a warbird, and should convey the caption well.
Those shots were more of an after action deal and waaaay too static. As you can see, the winning photographs were ones that captured the essence of the work being done. Nothing personal - you know I count you a friend enough to give you a phone call on occasion! I was just trying to give folks an idea of what was going through the judges head as he tried to make decisions!
Maybe a future contest should be for best museum or static indoors shot!
I'm still not sure what to do for the next contest. I've gotten all of one or two comments since this contest and I'm not sure I want to do another one by myself - without at least a little help.
