Tennessee Museum of Aviation P-47s

Tue Apr 02, 2013 10:33 pm

I've always been impressed with both "HunHunter" and "Wicked Wabbit," both aircraft being skillfully displayed every time they have been at Thunder Over Michigan. Allow me to share a few selections from the Thunder Over Michigan 2012.

"Wicked Wabbit" clawing her way around the corner. Love the sound of that big Pratt and Whitney radial thumping away...

"Wicked Wabbit" on a wing. I really enjoy the way that these two aircraft are flown. Neal Melton and John Schoffner do a wonderful job showcasing these magnificent flying machines!

Sunday morning at Thunder Over Michigan 2012 left quite a bit to be desired. Clouds, rain...what a delight it was to see both P-47s thunder off of the runway and participate in the AM "battle." :supz:

Last one for now. I've always liked the way that the P-47 looks from the rear-quarter. She screams POWER!

Thanks for looking! :drink3:

Great pics! I'm very lucky to live only 45 miles from these two so I see them fly several times every year. The museum's next Living History Day (fly event) is June 1 http://www.tnairmuseum.com/.

Two Summers ago one of these grand ladies was thundering in the skies over my town. She was silver with red and gold. I wish I had a camera. :( Loved the sound of that Pratt and Whitney.

Not of real good quality but you will like my video from TOM . I have access to the battle, I die early so I can photograph. Stupid cement factory, was it still there this year? ........John
