EAA Fly In Lebanon TN June 13 2009

I went to this Saturday not really sure what to expect. I must say that I had a great time. There was a great turn out of aircraft and a lot of flying. I can't wait until next years!

Thanks for posting those pictures, Tim. That T-6 and Sea Fury bring back some good memories for me.

The Sea Fury was the highlight of the day to me. What a beautiful beast! The first time I have ever seen one off the ground in person.

I've said it a gazillion times here on WIX, so I hope it's not "getting old" for me to say it again, but "O1" was the first airplane I ever built. It isn't the best T-6 in the world, but I'm sure proud of it. It was built from all new, surplus parts. Only the engine and prop were used...overhauled, but used.
It was always an honor to be entrusted with the Sea Fury. Ridin' along in it is a pretty cool bonus too!

These are more fantastic shots. It looks like you had great light, the clouds were perfect is several of the shots.
Are you shooting with an aperture priority or a shutter priority on your camera? I ask only because you panning is fantastic, with crisp craft and good background blur. Since your prop blurr is pretty consistant I thought you were shooting every thing around 125/250? Just great shots.
Is the back seater in the banking Fury shot waving at the crowd? Wow..And, what is the little dark (green?) plane with the # 77 on it? Is that on the deck or what???!!! It looks like it says "LoJac"? on the tail.
I agree with Jeff that the Stearman shot is fantastic, as is the 51 on take-off...but I like the banking Fury shot best. Something about that plane.
It looks like you have a nice show going down there! I guess I will have to hit the ole I-81 and see some Southern shows!

The afternoon light was great, all morning we were staring in the sun.
I've been shooting Manual mostly. I've been finding that has helped me out a ton. Some shots I lose, some I get. If you pull the trigger enough times you will hit something sometime.
The Stearman shot was taken at 1/80, I can't believe that it came out to tell you the truth at the speed. I generally try to shoot between 200-250 for flying warbirds.
The black aircraft with 77 on it is a T-34A. And it does say LoJac on the tail over a Indian Warrior Profile.
