I have to admit, we dont agree on much, but we agree on that. I know a lot of peolpe need recognition for all their effort, but did it have to be all over a priceless antique warbird?

Names all over an airplane…. well, Ifin I had ownership of a Warbird, regardless of its Bomber nomenclature, and a vet that flew or worked on or flew that model in the theater of combat operations, and had proof of such, you’re d a m n e d straight, that I’d be plastering their names on that airframe. What a great honor for me it would be to display the names of these men who were there. I would also have the names of the Rosie’s and guys that worked in the assembly plants that build these War machines. What a Tribute that would be to them, and they are now dropping like flies. Look a Ten Grand, and Bones, the signatures on the NMF looks cool to me. But, that is just my opinion, and right now, I can’t afford a Light, Medium, or Heavy Bomber, but I am saving up.

Don't you just love Cocktail Hour? In full color, in person, I'll bet that was amazing to see. I think it would be a fantastic choice for Collings when they get back around to painting the B-24 as a Pacific bird again.

D@mn straight skippy! I agree a 110% with you Gary.

My grandfather, who passed away last year, was part of the 352nd FG. He wasn't a pilot, nor did he have a job working with the aircraft. He was support staff and handled recreation and other mundane things for the FG. You can bet your @ss that if I had the coin and owned a P-51, it would be painted as a 352nd FG Bluenoser with his name on the plane. I would want to honor him for his service in WWII no matter how unglamorous it might have been.


P.S. Anyone have color pictures of the 352nd when they were flying P-47's? I have a very large scale P-47 RC model (7 1/2 foot wingspan) and I've always wanted to paint it as a 352nd P-47.

I always loved Dragon and it's tail. Sweet looking machine. I wished someone had saved it. I loved when the Collings B-24 was painted that way. As for the names on it, it and the B-17, I am not a fan. It takes away from the authentic look of it. The names are not just veterans but anyone that wants to sponsor the aircraft. I understand that it needed, just wish it could go inside or something. While we worked on "909" we used to call the B-24 the "Flying Billboard". Now they did it to the B-17 as well.
