The world of IF 1 is working hard to bring air racing back to the world. This year they have two races overseas in Tunisia and Spain. The final race of the series will actually be at Reno this year. The race in Tunisia is June 7. The hosts have a good website, with links back to Facebook for real time updates on it: http://www.airrace1.com/

The Precious Metal Unlimited class team is fielding a racer called "Hot Stuff" with pilot Thom Richard at the controls: http://www.airraceteam.com/#!aircraft--hot-stuff/czyz

I follow PM on Facebook and saw their new machine on there last night, it looks like a real speed demon! I was surprised to see Tunisia mentioned, but this kind of globe-trotting race series has got to be good for getting more people interested. Great stuff!

Thom's new ride was something of an open secret among a small group of people. We announced it as soon as he was on the ground in Tunisia so it would be more exciting....and come on....it's racing, you don't want everybody to know what you are bringing until it's too late to do anything about it! Hot Stuff is the former September Fate, except that SF only flew with a bone stock engine and now, as Hot Stuff, she has a full blown race engine in her. Top that off with the fact that we have Precious Metal back together with a new engine and it's only June and it's a sure sign that our team is really coming together this year. Race 99, Margaret June also lives in the same hangar and is in Tunisia for the races.

Lots of people in IF 1 working hard to make a series happen and keep happening. If it can get its feet on the ground solidly, it gives the chance to add other classes of racing later....which should then reflect back and help interest grow in the races in Reno.
