Two teams of engineers @ the Lazy 'B' are working out whether to continue development on the 777X which would require brand new design wings and other major improvements/upgrades, or press ahead with the -10 version of the 787 which is easier to accomplish. Meanwhile, ANA has switched orders on 4 787-8's (the current model) in exchange for 4 -9's with more seats. It also looks like lots of, mostly foreign carriers, faced with higher fuel pricing are electing to break up large parts of their fleets of 747-400's and turn them into spares and beercans.
