747-8 airliner awarded type certificate

The FAA has issued a type certificate to Boeing for the passenger version of the 747-8 Intercontinental. Aircraft in the flight test phase will undergo removal of flight test gear and have regular pax interiors installed for delivery sometime after the first of the year.
