Since we have, Deadliest Catch, Lobstermen of Alaska, Axemen, Ice Road truckers, Alaska State Police, Sarah Palin's Show and now these Alaska Wingmen, and Flying Wild Alaska ; I think I have seen enough of Alaska to last me a life time.

Are there any shows about Rhode Island ?

Having lived there, the only lobsters you find in Alaska are @ the fishmongers counter @ Safeway (they aren't native to nor do they grow in Alaska waters), and Palins show won't be back. So what do you think of the flying and the persons depicted?

I like them both.
Following one operation as in "Flying Wild Alaska" gives a lot of insight in to their daily problems and high points. I found it informative, especially for the non-flying public. They went into a lot of good details about aviation and how it operates. It helps explaon what and why they are doing what they do.
"Alaska Wing Men" is also good, and offers a great look into how a lot of different operations utilize their different types of aircraft in such a difficult environment.

We'll see if they can hold on for the long run since a lot of reality type shows feel they need dynamic, interpersonal, conflicts (a la American Chopper!)to keep the interest and energy up for the general viewing public.

Can you just imagine "Flying Wild Rhode Island"? It might be wicked cool, but pretty short lived! Fagetaboutit!

As the shows hopefully go along you'll see some oddball airplanes that might make you wonder, but keep in mind, if it don't make money and carry it's own load, it doesn't stay in the 'Great Land'- no room for show cars on a spud farm-

Enjoy the Nat Geo flying show. Watched one episode of the State Troopers. . Also have enjoyed the Sarah Palin show. I get comedy material from all these and do bits for family and friends. The similar to Canada accents and freezing cold climates are a constant topic with my mom who is from nearby Edmonton Canada. Im from So cal, just can't believe people really live in these places.

Nothing like landing on a flooded gravel bar, thats supposed to be a runway, or landing a Cessna in a 45Kt crosswind. Very interesting show.

Flying Wild Rhode Island, more like Taxiing Wild Rhode Island, too blasted small to takeoff in.
