The Geebee R-2 replica on display. It was flown by Delmar Benjamin at the Williams-Gateway airport and what a show! 8) The mid 1990s were highlight years for airshows and air races in Arizona. Where's the Tardis...

In 2004 it went to Fantasy of Flight. Not sure it is still there. It is not listed in the on-line collection list.

The airplane above is the Gee Bee R2.

The airplane that may or may not have flutter problems is the Gee Bee Z.

Delmar flew the heck out of the R2 for many years on the airshow circuit.

I would be pretty sure it does NOT have a flutter problem.

Yeah! Del flew the dog snot out of it @ EAA Arlington WA. in the mid-ish 90's in formation with a then locally owned rebuild of Mr. Muligan. Didn't Del roll it inverted just after takeoff on it's initial test flight? Seem to remember video of that and how he dispelled the 'killer airplane' myth about it. 8)

Kermit still has it currently (as of about a month ago when I was there). He also has a GeeBee Z too.

Here's an Oshkosh GeeBee shot. I miss Delmar on the airshow circuit, him at Sussex was the best!
