I'd rather hoped that WIX would stay out of this.
I'd like to think although "we" are pretty aviation savvy, we'd know there is a huge difference between being a warbird buff, flying a warbird...be great or small, and knowing about commercial long range operations by a wide body jet.

The military is well and truly involved by the way. eg. The RAAF has 6 x P-3's and a C-130J with RNZAF/USN support [P-3K/P-8]

I know the P-3s are old, but I don't think they're historic warbirds "Planes that have survived military service" as the introduction to this forum states.

It strikes me as somewhat odd that some WIXers object to discussions of aviation topics like the disappearance of MH370, simply because no Warbirds are involved. To me, all aspects of aviation help illuminate the historic value of the Warbirds we all love. I have studied them all my life, but frankly didn't have nearly the appreciation I now have for them until I became a private pilot and could relate better to the realities of flying an aircraft. This forum brings together people with a very wide variety of aviation interests, experiences, knowledge, and skills. Where better to exchange views on any aviation topic of general interest? Perhaps we all could do a better job of classifying these diverse topics by WIX forum, but I - for one - appreciate the diversity of views expressed here on the disappearance of MH370.

Again, the name of the site is, Warbird Information Exchange. Not, Aviation Topic of General Interest Information Exchange.

I don't own the site and I'm not a moderator. But, when a site has a proper forum (General Aviation) for this type of discussion, why let it linger on the Warbird Forum? It simply invites repetition. As one poster stated, "Don't like it? Don't read it." Okay, I'm fine with that right up to the point the site becomes so boogered up with non- topical discussions that it becomes chaos - the absence of order. I don't like the occasional spam which shows up on the site either but, should the moderators leave it in place simply because I can skip over it?

If you want to learn something about the myriad theories surrounding MH370, turn on your TV. It's available 24/7 and almost any and every talking head in the industry has one. I even know one of those talking heads and another who said, "No thanks." (The latter is the wise man).

IMHO, it doesn't need to be in the Warbird forum.

Simple rules dictate this should be in the off topic forum. The forum guidelines don't say "off topic except for hot items". What's so hard to understand about that?

Go on and take a look at others pages on this section, and you'll find topics about meetings, how to upload pictures, forum questions, etc. Wanna complain about those being in the wrong section?
There were discussions in this section also about the accident of Air France back in those days.
