Sniff, sniff, I just love a happy ending...

Except for the 747. An outdoor display - brilliant! Sure, it's true that the Saturn V went to he!! in about a dozen years and it became painfully and obviously necessary to build a big expensive enclosure after the fact to house it, or lose it altogether ... but this will surely be different. :ouch:

I'm really glad to see this plane saved. Wish they could display it indoors but it would cost a fortune to build a hangar large enough with the replica shuttle mounted on top. It would have been neat if they would have preserved the second carrier 747. You would think some museum would have wanted it...?
