A news item on tonights local Seattle TV news reports that AIRBUS is in discussions with Alabama about building an A-320 NEO assembly plant in Mobile, but th' Guv says he can't say anything about that at this time...........

I guess they were impressed with the reception they received during the tankler competition.
Not to mention the state tax breaks and low wages compared to Europe...and no paid 4 week vacations, etc.
Still, it wil be just a final assembly point, most high-value airframe pieces will still come from Europe.

Alabama is a right to work state. I wonder what the Euro Union goons think about that? Airbus is pulling the rug out from under their own employee unions!

Refer back to some of my comments on this portion of the discussion on the KC-46 greased pig seduction and how touchy the workers in Europe are/were over the 787 program startup.
