For Warbird Lovers Only-Lots of Warbirds,

Mon Aug 02, 2010 11:48 am

On May 21-22, 2011, there will be an event like no other in Madera, California. Our show, "Gathering of Warbirds" - 2011 will be held. NO MUSIC. The idea is that the Pitts and Yak guys will have a two hour performance window where they fill the sky with all the smoke they want to. The remainder of the day will be devoted to warbirds taking off, one, two, three ship formation take offs, fighter breaks, landing, tailchases, fighters escorting bombers, did I say NO MUSIC. Very loose and always somebody flying. The NAS Lemoore Hornet Demo Team and the A-10 Thunderbolt Demo Team will be there as well. NO MUSIC.
15 years ago "Warbirds Over Madera" was a premeire west coast event. We are trying to revive it.
If you are interested, contact me and I'll get you to the right guy. NO MUSIC.

I had some good flying and good days at Madera when I started in warbirds. The only bad one was the Sabre fire.

Madera drew most of the top warbird pilots, guys like Tiger, Steve Hinton, Lloyd, etc.
I hope you can get it going again. I'd come if I had a plane; do you have any Spitfires that need flying ? Or anything else, short of jets.
