The horizontals and 56 section (APU tailcone) are on site @ Boeing in Everett for the first 787-9 and assembly will begin shortly. The -9 will be 20 feet longer and seat 20 more pax with a slightly increased range. -8's and -9's will alternate down the line is the plan.
I see AIRBUS has rolled out it's first A-350, all that time and money to redesign the redesign that was redesigned before. and it looks like a 787 knockoff.
