Other than the Skycrane. Was there a helicopter in 1967 that could lift 10,000 lbs?

I believe there were at least a couple ex-Army CH-37 Mojave's available. I'm not sure, but can the Husky lift 10,000 external? Also, the S-61 should be close in lifting power and was available in 1967.
That's a hard question because I don't know of a ton of web sources that show external load capacities of historic helicopters.

There were a bunch of Mil's in Russia that could lift 10K and more like the Mil 26 monster that lifted a 2 1/2 ton flatbed truck and the pallet it was parked on between the gear legs, I think they also had on film, shots of a city bus being driven inside and flown away and that's on film that's been seen a lot over the years, I think the last time I saw it was on 'WINGS of the RED STAR' narrated bt Peter Ustinov and shown on the WINGS channel.
Go to virtual helicopter museum and look at the long long list of Soviet era helos that you can click on and see.

Yeah, but none of those were technically "civilian".

Capflyer,
Somewhere I've got a couple of slides I took @ Abottsford @ the airshow back in the mid 80's of an Il-76 in full AEROFLOT markings including civil registration, oh yeah, and 2 23 MM cannons in the armed tail gun position-until recently civil and military were just 'categories' for Soviet era airframes, they all belonged to the government. Civil was differentiated from military on whether or not the wingtips were painted day glow orange.

Yeah, but they also typically removed the tail guns whenever they were "civilian". My point more was that back in 1967 you couldn't just call up Aeroflot and get whatever private load you needed moved lifted, not that there were any "private" companies in the USSR at the time anyway.

Wasn't the original question 'other than the SKYCRANE, was there a helicopter in 1967 that could lift 10,000 lbs?'
answer 'yes' several Russian choppers, followed by general directions on where to find out which ones as the list of Soviet helos is very, very long. And 1967 I seriously doubt that other than a good will publicity stunt, Joe Lunchbox would have been hard pressed to ask the Pentagon for the charter of a CH-54 at that time.
