Where else but Texas?

Ok, I know that Southwest flys jets with various state flag's colors, but where else do you see this kind of paint job!

Gotta love this state!

That's pretty cool, but Stu Dawson's Sea Fury is the best!

They are all nice.

Even when they are flown in Georgia.

Nice, and there is always Texas International.

I remember the skies of the IAH airport full of T.I. aircraft! I wish they were still around!

They are still around. They just call themselves Continental nowdays, go figure. In the spirit of P.C. I will let others decide why Texas International went with the name of the airline they took over.

There was only one reason that mattered - the guy in charge was an idiot.

Remember, TI was Frank Lorenzo's "baby" and he then promptly ran Continental into the ground not once, but TWICE and got himself banned from aviation forever, the only person in the US to be banned from an entire industry.

I can remember when TI flew DC-3's....

Good old Tree Top Airlines and their 85 seat hot rods, spent some time riding them when I worked for a truck leasing outfit in lousiana-

Didn't T.I quit flying cattle and start making pocket calculators and computers??? Oh, that's Texas Instrument!!!

Some very nice paint jobs on this thread (And I'm not even from Texas!) but I will alwasy be a bit partial to this one. I was fortunate enough to be present for Charlie's debut performance in the "Lone Star Fury" at the Phoenix 500. It was among the best I've ever seen.

To echo Lynn Allen's comment about Trans Texas Int. flying DC-3's..... in fall of 1972 I went with a friend to Miller airport in Austin to pick up his brother. The weather was rotten and everything was grounded. Except TTI's gooney birds. Rob was grouchy about the delay but I was spellbound when this battered gray 3 pulled up to the ramp in a gray drizzle. I think it later flew back out in that slop.
