The European aviation safety authorities have mandated that all A-380's go through a complete inspection for potential cracks inside the wings-while..............

at the same time Boeing is investigating and correcting possible incorrect shimming in either the 56 or 58 sections ( fuselage sections around the horizontal stab or APU sections outside the pressure envelope) of the 787 that are built in S. Carolina. The 56 and 58 sections on the very early assemblies shipped to Everett had serious quality and appearance/finish issues.

At a local aviation future conference being held in Lynnwood WA., Richard Aboulafia, a market analyst with Teal Group said he was skeptical about Boeings smaller 787-3 and AIRBUS'S A-350 XWB, or A-350-800,saying the later isn't a valid aircraft. Boeing is in discussions with customers regarding the size of the larger 787-10.
