The topic of Jackie Cochran's P-51B came up on the Warbird site, making me think about what might have happened to her Staggerwing. Anyone have any ideas? |

I beleive its on display with the Staggerwing Musuem. Cheers RER If they do Rob, they aren't bragging about it. It's not listed in their collection. It should be a D17W, or as purported to be converted to a D17R when impressed in the Air Corps in WW2 served as a UC-43K.(Warbird!) www.staggerwing.com |

My Staggering book lists it as crashed while in Army service and not rebuilt. This was SN164 and was a D17W but converted to a 600(!)HP P/W 985. Bummer.... that would have been a neat one to survive today. I have a couple of photos of this Staggerwing. I'll post them soon. |
