Does anyone have some history of this aircraft which is now owned by Kermit? TIA Dave |

Dave, I think there is a person at Creve Coeur Airport who had some history on Barber's plane that's now with Kermit. I might be getting things mixed up with an old friend in Tucson but I'll make some calls today. The CW-22 is the plane used on the Missouri Aviation Historical Society's logo so as you can imagine, it is near and dear to our heart, wish we had one on display! I've been digging for info and photos on Evergreen's ex-Casey Lambert CW and have located some interesting photos for you. I will scan at high resolution in tif and jpg format and send you a remote download link this evening. I will also put out an email blast to the MOAHS members to see what else I can find. |

Barber's airplane is an SNC-1. I have a lot of stick time in it. OK, so it was while it was sitting in the hangar he and my dad shared at Young Field (http://www.airfields-freeman.com/MI/Air ... MI_SE.html). DL |

There used to be one in California...Santa Paula, IIRC. I remember it sticking its nose out of a hangar in a automobile magazine ad in the 80s (a Buick, IIRC). Anyone else recall that? |

My dad, Bob Randall, worked for 2 years on Bill Barber's Curtiss Wright Falcon. He finished it in 1962 at Young Field Airport in Ann Arbor, MI. He did most of the restoration, and painted it "Bolero Red" a Dupon product. I have a photo that was taken right after the plane passed the FAA inspection in '62. I don't know how to post the picture here. |
