I've got my fingers crossed that Mother Nature grants you 80 Deg F weather with a light wind right down the runway, every day! Maybe one of these days, I'll make it over there for the National Club flyin.

Well folks, I can definitively say we had the worst weather we have ever had! Five days of wave after wave of T-storms and heavy downpours. Surprisingly, 18 Wacos made it to the "Splash-in"! That just goes to show you the dedication of the owners. Here is what attended:

Just curious, are there any photos of the Waco RPT as it was originally built without the later canopy addition? Did it have USAAC markings from the factory?

I have photos of it as it was built. It was not painted in Air Corps colors or markings. It was powered by a Warner engine with a bump cowl and not the Kinner it has now with the PT-22 nose. It also did not have any canopy as it has today and the wing tips did not have the tip plates you see now either.

I see the sole RPT has been for sale for quite some time (Not enough wings?). Restoration to the original configuration would be interesting. Thank for the info.
