I visited the Frank Phillips Woolaroc Museum today, what a great display the Winner of the Dole Race to Hawaii. They have the "Woolaroc" displayed in a great setting. The Museum near the center of some 3,600 acres of land 12 miles south west of Bartlesville Oklahoma.
I never realized how cramped the pilot was with the big fuel tank behind him.
I think the flight was some 24 hours plus. They have a large scale model (showing every detail of the full sized airplane in a Travel Air hangar setting.
Please visit this museum when you are flying or driving near Bartlesville Oklahoma, you will see how deep Phillips Petroleum Company aviation roots are.

Just slightly off topic, but when you visit Bartlesville, I recommend a visit to the Price Tower. It is the only high-rise designed by Frank Lloyd Wright to have ever been built (he designed others, but never built). It is a really cool, quirky building.
