Makes my day to see such a great outcome. ![]() Fantastic news that Larry was able to get it down smoothly, with no injury, and (looks like) no damage to that stunningly beautiful example of aviation history. I'm sure all his friends at AAA will do their best to help him. |

We don't know for sure until we tear the engine down, but all signs point towards a broken crank. At Blakesburg we talked to a lot of Wright folks and nobody has ever heard of one breaking so it is an oddity. As mentioned before, the airplane wasn't scratched in its highway landing and it has already been disassembled and loaded on a truck for the trip home. |
