Anybody seen a switch like this before?

It's a mag switch from a 1939 Taylorcraft, like the two above the throttle on the picture I posted in the other thread, missing the knob, works push-pull like a headlight switch, and since they tended to use a lot of automotive parts back then I'm wondering if it might have come from a 1930s automobile. The push-pull rod rotates contacts inside the round part, have any of you antique car nuts seen one like it?

I would guess farm tractor? some had mags on them.
