GREAT NEWS!! I noticed in the posting that the Manila Airport wants N 4247K's owners to move it or it will be scrapped in place. As I recall, the aircraft arrived intact and fresh out of refurbishment @ KAWI and was seized by the Philippine Government for some bogus charges. Wouldn't that make the Philippine Government the owners? |

Pat Carry wrote: The anticipated flight is near. http://www.conniesurvivors.com/1-connie_news.htm That's good news. Sorry that it will likely be a one time flight. I would love to be there to see it. And Pat, you could have posted this in the regular WIX Hangar since this Connie is a Warbird. |

Wouldn't that make the Philippine Government the owners? No bogus charges.... much more complicated than that - partner squabbles and court cases. The connie was grounded as one of the partners obtained a court attachment order that prevented the aircraft from flying away. Then funds ran out and it was finally abandoned. One thing that happens in the Philippines is LOTS of red tape and court cases that go on to eternity, so its future is bleak to say the least. The Philippine Government or the airport don't see themselves as the owners. So basically the owner must move it, although I'm sure the court order will prevent that anyway, then pay the parking fees, or bye bye. So it's catch-22 I'd say. |
