While looking at the restoration work being done on Black Magic I was wondering if anyone has actually compared the replica built by Repeat aircraft to the original based at Shuttleworth's?
One of the things that I noticed on Grosvenor House was that there has been a fairly significant amount of modernizing to enable continued CAA approvals I am guessing... Is the California airplane more OEM in appearance?
That was Bill Turner who built the replica if I remember correctly? I don't think he is still around?

The big difference between the Wathen replica at Flabob and the Shuttleworth one is that one flies and one doesn't!

The Shuttleworth one has a Kevlar forward decking, but is otherwise fairly original. The California one has a modern cockpit and an improved gear set-up, plus a couple of degrees of washout at the tips incorporated into the wing design to improve stall characteristics on landing.
