I found this roughly 9ft long stabilizer in a batch of parts that I got out of the closed down Tradewinds Salvage in San Antonio, TX. I plan on using it for an art project, but I want to make sure it isn't something of importance to someone's restoration before I do anything with it. What in the world does it fit? has some numbers that were written on it with a marker at some point. I could find no I.D. tag on it anywhere. Many of the parts that were in the yard were military surplus, so I don't know if this is a civilian part or ex military. What are your thoughts on what I have found?[img] ![]() ![]() |

It looks very much like the tail off a Cessna 170. I recognize the leading edges, inspection holes and shape. You might need do some further investigating to see if it matches the 170, L-19, 195 as they are very similar. |

Part number starting with "05..." indicates that it is from a Cessna 170 |
